Total mesh width should be about 40% larger than your fireplace opening.

Example: Opening is 36":
36" x 1.40=50.4" Divide that by two gives size per each panel. Final size would be approximately 25" to 26" wide. Extra width will add to the beauty of the fireplace. (Added Drape)

 
Cut first doubled wire past your measured length.

 
Cut other side as shown.

 
At the opposite end, note the same two wires are crimped. (Twist them out.)
