Our wood burned scenes are done by an experienced artist and are available with or without coloring. Scenes can be done on any species of mantel, but if the scene is not colored it may not show up well on a Walnut or Mahogany mantel. Mantels that are Draw Knifed, Carved or Square can have scenes added to them. The surface of a Natural Faced or Bark Faced mantel is too dark to allow a scene to show up well.

  The scene will be about 12-16 inches long and is normally centered on the mantel unless a different location is desired if a knot or other characteristic on the face of the mantel interferes. The scene will cover the full  thickness of the mantel. The detail and lifelike quality of the art often makes people think that it is done with a laser, but the uneven surface of the wood makes that impractical.  Adding a wood burned scene to your mantel will take 2-4 weeks.
